Week 33 Update

As week 33 draws to a close, our little guy could be as tall as 20 inches and weighs about 5 pounds.  This week, his testicles will begin making their way down from his abdomen to their final destination: his scrotum.  (Finally, some TMI on this blog of the male kind...haha)  By this coming week, his tiny little fingernails have probably reached the tip of his fingers.  We're all set with some baby clippers and emery boards, so he'll be good to go!

Things on my end are pretty much the same.  I haven't had very much swelling as of yet, but along with the other aches I've described previously, I've started getting shooting pains in my upper inner thighs pretty regularly.  They almost feel like little "charlie horses."  I looked this up, and it's pretty common in pregnancy.  It's similar to the more commonly talked about "sciatic pain" that people get down the back of their leg (although, I've barely experienced any of this kind as of yet), where basically, the baby is pushing against a nerve as he's running out of room in my belly, which causes the short bursts of sharp pain.

I can certainly tell that our little boy is getting more cramped in my belly!  Most of his movements are pretty visible from the outside these days, and it's starting to get pretty easy to feel various body parts poking out.  The other night he was particularly active and was reenacting a scene from the move "Alien." haha  We think it is his feet pointed toward the top of my belly, and he kept pushing them up, giving Mark and I quite a show!

This week is a pretty quiet week for us--no baby classes or appointments!  I'm sure we'll manage to fill the time with something else (hopefully relaxation!).

Well, I guess that's it for now!

-Mandy :)
