Today Mark and I went to the 12-week checkup. The appointment was for 2:15pm, but I didn't get seen until 3pm! And the actual time spent in the checkup was only about 10 minutes... Geez. I've heard a lot of good things about the OB we have from other people, and so far, I like her a lot too. But people probably like her so much because she takes her time with her patients and doesn't rush them out. But that means appointments probably get pushed back later and later as the day goes on... Oh well.
Anyway, there wasn't much to the checkup today. The OB went over my blood test results for the work I got done shortly after the 8-week checkup. Everything there looked good. She also looked over the results from the 1st trimester screen that we got done yesterday (I'm guessing just the ultrasound pictures since it's supposed to take a week and a half to get the full results), and confirmed again that they looked good. Then, she filled out some prescriptions for pre-natal vitamins and answered any questions we had. The only major thing that was done today was a sonagram to hear the baby's heartbeat, which was loud and clear! That was pretty cool, although, not nearly as impressive as the show we got yesterday with the 12-week ultrasound. We got spoiled!
Since today is the start of my 2nd trimester, Mark and I also decided to announce to the world that we are having a baby. (Although, pretty much everyone we care about already knows...haha)
That's all for now!
-Mandy :)
