Week 9 update

I am now almost 10 weeks pregnant, and the baby should be graduating from the size of an olive to the size of a prune (about 1.5 inches long). Other than that, there isn't much else exciting to report...haha

This week, the fatigue is hitting me, hard. I guess I started feeling tired this weekend, but it wasn't as noticeable since I got to spend most of it relaxing. But Monday and today were pretty rough at work! I'm just so sleepy! Plus, now that the weather is chillier, a comfy warm bed is even more inviting than usual...haha Also, it looks like I have a cold now, which doesn't help. Although, I'm very grateful that it is just a cold and not the flu! But, between scratchy throat and post nasal drip irritating my stomach, and my heightened sense of smell these days, I spent a little time today dry heaving over the toilet. Not fun. (But hey, at least I kept breakfast down!)

I've also developed a very sour and unpleasant taste in the back of my mouth. Chewing gum and brushing my teeth seems to help, but the taste comes back after the minty freshness wears off. I tried looking this up as a possible symptom of pregnancy. It's not in the "what to expect" book, but when searching online, I found a lot of women talking about this happening to them during pregnancy (particularly at 9-10 weeks, which is where I'm at!), so at least I know I'm not going crazy...haha Food still tastes good, but I spend the time when I'm not eating wanting to spit or brush my tounge!

I also feel like I'm starting to notice my belly getting a little bigger now. According to the scale, I haven't gained a ton of weight yet, maybe 3-4 pounds at the most so far (and via our ultrasound adventure, we know we're not having twins...haha); so, I should still have a few weeks before I have to worry about showing. But I do have a very short torso, and it's known that smaller people may show a little sooner. I'm sure that no one else really notices but me though.

Now that I've told my boss about the baby, I'm really excited to tell everyone at work. But I'm going to try to hold out for a couple more weeks. So unless someone asks, I'm keeping my mouth shut...haha

Well, that's all for now!

-Mandy :)
